Chesed

Chesed is a central Jewish value and is often translated as kindness. However, it actually encompasses much beyond that single word, including the sharing of experiences, love, and support for others. Chesed is mentioned in the Torah over 100 times! While CST members have always been performing acts of kindness and support to their fellow members, we have a committee to further assist in providing chesed.

To expand the committee’s reach we are looking for additional teen and adult committee members to provide input and help in carrying out committee projects. We recently finished collecting food and supplies for the High Holiday Drive and delivered them to Popsie’s Pantry. Our upcoming project will be Chanukah Adopt a Family.

CST Men’s Club

Men’s Club is a social group that hosts fun programs, enhances Jewish life and values, and supports the synagogue and its events. We attend sporting events together, often host a social gathering after services, usher at the synagogue, and organize events such as the World Wide Wrap with the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs (FJMC). Our club is open to all Jewish men and non-Jewish spouses over age 18.

As an example, we teach our children the binding of Tefillin to the bonds of our extended congregational family and initiate social activities to promote ruach and brotherhood. Our educational outreach spreads beyond the synagogue and our desire to provide programming for members of all ages continues to grow.

CST Sisterhood

Our Sisterhood seeks to enhance connections among women in our congregation and the broader Jewish community. We provide programs that educate, entertain, and promote Jewish values as well as serve as a consistent source of support for the synagogue as a whole. From book club to mahjong and evenings in the Sukkah, from catering congregation events to joint programs with other local sisterhoods, we are committed to encouraging participation and instilling pride in Judaism. We invite you to join us and enjoy the fellowship of our members.
